On March 11, 2020, the construction of the National Museum of Beirut extension was completed.

The works initiated on December 7, 2016 finally came to an end despite the difficulties faced by the country including: the severe economic crisis, the October 17, 2019 protests, and the Covid 19 pandemic.

The layout of the garden adjacent to the new pavilion has yet to be finalized.

As for the inauguration, it is postponed to a later date, circumstances permitting.
